13th May 2012 | A few models from other countries were allowed in. All-in-all a good meeting and weather was good. The Kiel Canal is just nearby, a nice place for a walk and to watch the ships go by. Please click here or here

British Cars Tour, organised by www.heidebriten.de

The last classic car tour of the season, with 75 to 80 cars. Blue skies and sunshine all the way. We started in Hamburg and met the others near Seevetal. The tour continued via country lanes to Walsrode. Click here for a selection of photos

Although it rained, the event was enjoyable. The Drochtersen summer festival, boot sale and classic car picnic on the River Elbe island known as Krautsand. All in all it was an interesting visit. The cost of 8 Euros to get in was marred by the fact that most of the cars were gone by 3pm. The safety of visitors was put at risk, by drivers of cars who left far too early and who drove through the visitors. This event should be partly reorganised and drivers should be informed that they are required to stay until at least 5pm, if the event closes at 6pm. Many people were still arriving to see the event at 3pm and as such it was a waste of time for anyone who paid to get in, after that time. Better luck next time, but it was worth visiting Kiekeberg anyway
